I am very interested in the Elphick history....my brother(Dr. Robert Hill) and
I have been doing some searching but of course its a bit hard to do across
the ocean!

Getting back to the original Richard Elphick I:
Born in town of Battle, Sussex, England. He owned a very large estate in
the town of Hastings and vicinity.
He married and had three sons: Richard II, James and Charles and two
daughters, Elizabeth and Nancy. The daughters died in England. James was a
British soldier in the War of 1812. Richard II married and came to America.
He was born in 1777 and died in 1864 and buried in Hubbardsville
Cemetery, Hubbardsville, NY. Richard II had nine children (see above).
